Haltwhistle nostalgia gallery

A town that claims to be the Centre of Britain because of its position in the middle of the British Isles, Haltwhistle is a community that can also point to a rich history.

The town's name is derived from the meeting of the River South Tyne with the Haltwhistle Burn and the town is one of the closest approaches of the river to Hadrian's Wall.
